This online LOTO awareness course provides a practical foundation in the concepts, processes and risk management of isolating and controlling hazardous energy sources. It is suitable for workers across all industries and all levels of experience — whether you're entering the workforce for the first time, mobilising to a new site, or refreshing your understanding of isolation requirements.

On completion of the course Participants will be able to:

• What isolation, lockout and tagout means — definitions, purpose, and why it matters in any workplace where plant or equipment is present
• Stored energy — what it is, the common sources (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, gravitational), and how to identify hazardous energy in your workplace
• The types of isolation — simple, complex, effective and positive isolations — and when each applies
• The 9-Step LOTO Process — a structured, step-by-step walkthrough of safe isolation and reinstatement procedures
• Isolation equipment — tags, padlocks, hasps, lockout devices and their correct selection and use
• Risk management — identifying, assessing and controlling hazardous energy risks using the hierarchy of controls
• Australian legislative requirements — an overview of WHS obligations for PCBUs and workers, with a state and territory selector to review the laws that apply to your jurisdiction

The course is self-paced and takes approximately 1 Hour to complete and Participants have 3 months to complete after enrolment. 

The course is available immediately after the course fee payment and is fully online.
