Underground Shotfirers course (BEUL)

Enrolment into the Underground Shotfirers Course requires a learner to:

• Be 18 years of age (Proof of Age or Drivers Licence Required)
• Be currently employed by an underground Mine Site
• Have site authorisation to access to explosives and associated equipment
• Basic computer literacy
• Basic maths for calculations

Ideally a learner should already hold a valid “Security Clearance” however not a requirement to commence training.

Metex Solutions will provide the following resources:

• Learning Resources (physical learners guide)
• In-class computer resource (for completion of the theory assessment activities)
• Any ongoing support a learner may require to complete the course

Your Mine Site will need to provide the following resources:

• Qualified Supervising Shotfirer/s
• Time in the Charge Up Crew to develop the required on-the-job skills in Underground Shotfiring
• Access and on site training on the explosives equipment
• Completion of third-party reports in accordance with assessment instructions
• Learners will be required to utilise mobile devices to collect workplace evidence onsite.

3 Days of Explosives Theory + On the Job Practical Training delivered by the Participant’s Mine Site.

METEX Solutions can provide accredited training  in the following locations:

• New South Wales
• Tasmania (Certificate NO.: T10/22)

The following Assessment Activities are required to be completed:

• Theory Assessment including calculations required for blasting
• Evidence of 2 Development Shots
• Evidence of 2 Productions Shots
• Evidence of 2 Secondary Break Shots

Note: Evidence can be backdated up to 6 months
