Underground Shotfirers course (BEUL)
Course Overview
Our underground shotfirers course has been developed to enhance the On-the-Job training provided by your mine site.
This course has been developed to meet the training requirements for the application of the Blasting Explosives User Licence issued by Safework NSW or Safework Tasmania. Each Trainee Shotfirer will receive a Learners Guide developed for each of the States the course is delivered in.
The course covers the following units of competency:
- RIIBLA205E Store, handle, and transport explosives
- RIIBLA202F Support underground shotfiring operations
- RIIBLA303E Conduct development shotfiring
- RIIBLA304E Conduct production shotfiring
- RIIBLA305E Conduct secondary blasting
- RIIBLA401E Manage blasting operations

Course Duration
3 Days of Explosives Theory + On the Job Practical Training delivered by the Participant’s Mine Site.

Successful Completion Course Outcomes
Statement of Attainment
On successful completion of the course and associated assessment tasks, the learner will be issued with
a Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment from Safety & Emergency Training.
